1. What is the name of your business and can you tell us a little bit more about it?

Chair Covers & Linens, Inc. - Also known as LinenHero and our full service division which is doing business as (DBA) Top That Event.

Our Company was founded by my brother and a team of event professionals dedicated to providing affordable and elegant chair covers to anyone who wanted to make their event extraordinary. The primary focus, then and now, remains how to help our customers transform an ordinary room into something magical without spending a fortune.   Today we are leaders in our industry and have been serving our customers for twenty years.  Our creativity is backed by an extensive national presence that enables us to execute hundreds of events nationwide each week.

2. What has been your biggest win as an entrepreneur thus far?

Although my brother started the company I was by his side from nearly day one. Unfortunately 5 years ago, and fifteen years into our business he died in small plane crash.  My biggest win as entrepreneur thus far would be taken over the company after this hardship, there was so much coming at me and decisions to be made in a short amount of time. To remain confident, calm, and demonstrate that we would continue to be a reliable partner in our event community took a great deal of determination, long hours, stepping outside of my comfort zone, and willingness to accept a great amount of risk.  When all during that time mourning the loss of my business partner, brother, and best friend. So even though we have been in business for many years I see these past five years like a rebirth of our new start up company.

3. Where do you find daily motivation and inspiration?

My motivation comes from an innate nature to serve others.  Inspiration comes from a myriad of places but at the top of the list would be the time spent with the bible and developing a relationship with God.  I also find motivation in books, speakers, music, and hearing other people's stories.

4. What is the best piece of advice you have received and who was it from?

If you always do what you always did then you always get what you always got. - Todd LLoyd (My Brother)

5. What is your morning routine?

I wake very early spend time with our Lab Lola, get my coffee, sometimes I read (currently reading a great one called I AM Number 8 by John Gray), do a few devotionals, check social, check business numbers, and lastly I’m quiet even if only for five minutes to set the tone for the day ahead.

6. Favorite podcast?

I Actually don’t listen to a lot of podcasts.

7. Something that most people wouldn’t know about you:

That I was really heavy as a little kid and much of my compassion in how to treat others comes from the raw experience of how I was treated as an overweight child. I also have four kids - one is my bioglical daughter and three step kids who live with us 50% of the time. I grew up in small town up North called Clare. I love the city but savor the moments up North with my parents and sister. I love downhill skiing.

8. If you could go back to when you started your company what would you say to yourself?

That nobody has it all figured out and you have to be the best version of yourself; To be authentically who you were born to be. BE YOU! You need to understand that who you are and who you are becoming is changing all the time.  It is so much of your life experiences and interactions that develop you.  To love yourself is the greatest gift you can give yourself, so dont be so hard on yourself.
