1. What is the name of your business and can you tell us a little bit more about it?
I’m a multi-passionate entrepreneur on mission to uplift, encourage and support other female entrepreneurs who are tired of focusing on everything BUT their zone of genius.
After graduating with a BFA from the College for Creative Studies, I had several entrepreneurial incarnations, which include product-centered community herbalist, graphic designer, and ceramic artist (I even made it on design*sponge back in the day!). At the same time, I was honing my customer service + admin skills working for corporate 'merica.
I realized how isolating being an entrepreneur can be. And I know all too well that feeling of not having enough time + brainspace to do it all. That’s why I decided to reincarnate (entrepreneurially-speaking, of course) as my best boss self, and Desk & Design was born!
By sharing my cumulative experience and supertalents to support, cheer, and collaborate, I’m able to form authentic partnerships with my dreamy clients and the businesses they whole-heartedly created.
I’ve developed a stress-free done-for-you site design process that gives you a custom site, branding, and copy. I'll make you a site that's just as gorgeous as it is laser-focused on drawing in dreamy clients. Zero overwhelm! Oh! And did I mention that it just takes 2 weeks!?
I also provide virtual assistance that’s structured in a way that allows me to form an authentic partnership with my "biz besties". This way I get to care about their business like they do and contribute to THEIR growth and success.
2. What has been your biggest win as an entrepreneur thus far?
My biggest win so far has been intentionally manifesting a business centered around the way I want to feel (inspired, encouraging, and uplifting). To do this, I make sure I work with people who are passionate, unapologetic, and intrinsically driven to put their best selves out there because they simply don't know how NOT do that. I also make sure that I take on a select number of clients so that I can fully devote my attention to them, make them feel cherished and supported.
3. Where do you find daily motivation and inspiration?
I find a lot of motivation from my mission of supporting other women. Because of how intentional I am about my business and who I work with, all of the clients I have are so amazing and inspire me every single day. I also have an amazing mastermind group who inspire and motivate me, and serve as my board of directors and support me 100%.
4. What is the best piece of advice you have received and who was it from?
I've received so much amazing advice. One that resonated a lot with me recently was from Marielle, The Detroit Health Coach. She told me that breaking our commitments and promises we've made to ourselves breaks the trust we have in ourselves. So wise! So true!
5. What is your morning routine?
My morning routine begins with setting an intention before I get out of bed. Then I'll usually have 25 minutes for some basic self-care. Then I make myself herbal coffee with adaptogens and breakfast. I have kids so I'm sometimes having to multi-task- packing lunches, and getting everyone to school on time.
6. Favorite podcast?
I like the Jess Lively Show so much!
7. Something that most people wouldn’t know about you:
I love dancing! Mostly in my kitchen. Mostly embarrassingly.
8. If you could go back to when you started your company what would you say to yourself?
Trust your inner voice 100%.
