1. What is the name of your business and can you tell us a little bit more about it?
Tribe Detroit is a boutique style studio that I designed with creatives in mind. It’s best used for meetings, meet-ups, photo shoots, small networking events, panel discussions, workshops and pop-ups.
2. What has been your biggest win as an entrepreneur thus far?
Creating “snap + social + solve” with Alyssa Leffler Photography and Rachele Wright from Wright Outcomes. It’s a program for busy entrepreneurs to help take the pressure off when it comes to social media and digital marketing images and content. We’ve been able consistently service a variety of entrepreneurs with both styled lifestyle and product photography followed by customized digital marketing and social media sessions based on their own marketing needs. We have a great new offer coming out this summer that I think everyone will be really excited about. It’s always a win when you can find a way to fill a need for someone
3. Where do you find daily motivation and inspiration?
Getting out of my daily routine. Getting in touch with my “business tribe”, people with common goals who understand what I’m trying to accomplish. Traveling when I can and reading lots of books and magazines.
4. What is the best piece of advice you have received and who was it from?
Start working on the most important thing first. For a long time I did the quickest thing first, thinking I could get a lot of small things checked off my list. Those things are easy to squeeze in and check off throughout the day but if you can get the biggest/most important thing done by the end of the day, that’s a win. Shanna Skidmore.
5. What is your morning routine?
Currently my morning routine is survival…. and coffee! Lol, I really understand the value of a solid morning routine and it’s something that I’m working toward. I will get there. As of right now I have four kids to get out the door in the morning and a brand new puppy I’m trying to figure out. One thing I know I will be implementing is not starting my morning off on email. It’s a rabbit hole and next thing you know it’s hours later and you haven’t gotten anything done.
6. What is your favorite podcast?
I don’t know, can you recommend some? Again, I like the idea of that but I read a lot and when I’m in the car I’m mostly listening to my kids screaming at each other.
7. Something that most people wouldn’t know about you:
I can decorate your house in my sleep (my background is in interior design) but I can’t dress myself to save my life. I mean... it’s really bad and it takes me forever, then I leave the house in a t-shirt and jeans. I also don’t like to do insta stories because I HATE listening to my voice.
8. If you could go back to when you started your company what would you say to yourself?
The anxiety of putting myself out there was so overwhelming for me. I would even go so far as to say it held me back for years. Had I known what an amazing, welcoming community Detroit was it would have saved me so much stress. I really think we have such a unique, inclusive environment going on here and I’m just happy to be a part of it.
